my players tried...mourinho

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho: “It’s a point. It was a difficult match. Only one team tried to win from the beginning, the other team didn’t. They defended a lot and they defended well. Defending a lot and well is not a crime. It is a strategy and it was successful for them.
“We were a bit tired towards the end and we left a bit of space. But I’ve got nothing negative to say about my team. It’s not easy to play here and not easy to play against a side which has had all week to prepare. My players tried everything to win but we couldn’t.”
On Costa’s yellow card: “I didn’t see it. But the referee was close and he had a very good performance throughout. If I see the incident on television I might have a better opinion.”

Ebola death toll nears 7,000, says WHO

Data published by the UN's health body late Friday showed that 16,169 people had been infected with Ebola and that 6,928 of them had died in the three countries at the centre of the outbreak -- Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia.
On Wednesday, WHO had put Ebola death toll in the three countries at 5,674, with 15 additional deaths in other countries.
WHO provided no explanation for the steep hike in fatalities, mainly in Liberia, but the new toll likely includes previously unreported cases.
Given the difficulty in collecting figures and with the fatality rate in the current outbreak known to be around 70 percent, the agency has previously said it believes there have been far more deaths than those registered.
The deadliest Ebola outbreak ever has so far hit Liberia the hardest, although observers say the spread of the virus there has slowed significantly in recent weeks.
Nonetheless, Liberia accounts for the lion's share of the new deaths tallied, now counting 4,181 deaths out of 7,244 cases.
That compares to the 3,016 deaths and 7,168 cases in Wednesday's toll.
Sierra Leone, which according to the WHO is still seeing a rapid spread of Ebola in many parts of the country, now counts 1,461 deaths out of 6,802 cases, up from 1,398 deaths and 6,599 cases on November 26.
Guinea, where the outbreak began nearly a year ago, meanwhile counted 1,284 deaths out of 2,123 cases, up from 1,260 deaths and 2,134 cases two days earlier.
The WHO did not provide an update on other countries affected by the outbreak.
In the previous update the UN agency said Mali, the most recent county in the region hit by Ebola, had eight confirmed cases, six of which have proved fatal.
The country announced Friday that it had for the first time successfully treated a patient with the virus.
Nigeria, which has reported eight Ebola deaths, and Senegal, which only saw one case, have not recorded any new cases for 57 days. Both countries have now been declared Ebola-free.
There have been four Ebola cases in the United States, one of which was fatal.
There has also been one confirmed case in Spain, a nurse who has recovered.
Ebola, one of the deadliest viruses known to man, is spread only through direct contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person showing symptoms such as fever or vomiting.
People caring for the sick or handling the bodies of people infected Ebola are especially exposed.
Health workers have been among the worst hit, with 340 deaths out of 592 cases.

Rich Chinese man builds free luxury flats for poor people in the town where he grew up

A 54 year old Chinese businessman Xiong Shuihua did something amazing for the community where he grew up in Xinyu, Southern China. He paid to bulldoze all the wooden huts in the area then spent millions replacing them with an estate of luxury flats for the residents.

In total, he housed 72 families to repay them for their kindness towards him while he was growing up. He's also giving villas costing about £4m pounds to another 18 families who were particularly kind to him. In addition, elderly and low paid residents will also be given three meals a day for free.

According to reports, five years ago, the place was run down with muddy roads, but now that he's making millions from the steel industry, he decided to repay the favour his neighbours showed him. Xiong Shihua said he could afford the project because he had earned more money than he knew what to do with.

Arab League backs Palestinian push for statehood

The Arab League on Saturday backed Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas's plan to seek UN endorsement for a timetable for declaring an independent state, and rejected recognising Israel as a Jewish nation.
But the extraordinary meeting of Arab foreign ministers, which Abbas attended, did not announce when they would approach the United Nations Security Council.
A statement said the ministers agreed a plan which includes submitting an "Arab proposal to the United Nations Security Council to end the (Israeli) occupation," of Palestinian land.
The 22-member bloc also said they support plans by Abbas to said in a statement.
It also backed Palestinian plans to seek membership in UN agencies and international courts.
In 2012, the Palestinians won the status of UN observer state.
With peace talks now bogged down, the Palestinians have warned they would go ahead with plans to submit a draft resolution to the UN Security Council demanding an end to Israeli occupation.
As part of their diplomatic offensive they are also determined to seek to join the International Criminal Court, where they could sue Israeli officials over allegations of war crimes.
The Arab foreign ministers also announced Saturday their "categorical rejection of recognising Israel as a Jewish state," the statement said.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has demanded that Abbas, whose Palestinian Liberation Organisation recognised Israel in a 1993 accord, affirm the country as a "Jewish state".
Netanyahu's government has passed a controversial draft law enshrining in law Israel's status as the Jewish national homeland.
Israel's identity is already contained in its 1948 declaration of independence, according to the Israel Democracy Institute, which said the new proposal fails to emphasise "commitment to the equality of all its citizens".
Netanyahu insists the law would balance Israel's Jewish and democratic characteristics.
The country's parliament, the Knesset, is to vote on the proposal on December 3.

Man Chases Wife away After giving Birth to a Child Resembling a Neighbor

There was drama over the weekend at Naromoru in Kieni East after a man chased away his wife of four years after she gave birth to a child who resembled their immediate neighbour.
The man said that the child was fathered by the neighbour and for that reason, he should take her together with the wife and pave way for him to marry another wife.

While shouting at the top of his voice for all locals to know his wife's randy behaviour, the father of one said that he got concerned when the wife, who was initially mean with her body, started offering herself generously to him. She would persuade him to have s*x with her almost on a daily basis so as to convince him that he was the father.
When she gave birth however, the baby was a split image of their neighbour – a butcher.

“Keshi is not a top coach, he doesn’t have proper qualifications” – Oliseh

Keshi-oliseh

Sunday Oliseh has said coach Stephen Keshi, should be blamed for Nigeria’s failure to progress for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea. The former Super Eagles captain pointed out Keshi’s constant tinkering with his line-ups, as the reason why his men could not play as a team.
“The uncoordinated way in which Super Eagles play, which triggered our recent elimination, is borne out of the fact that there were too much line-up changes,” he wrote on his blog.  “When you lack ‘raw’ quality in your team, you advocate and build success via team work, team play and a regular team to compensate for what you lack in individual quality.” Oliseh also ridiculed the mindset that anyone who criticizes Keshi’s methods, is trying to replace him as coach of the team.
“It is a crime to air your opinion, give advice or suggestions on how to better the Super Eagles without the handlers throwing insults at you or crying out that you seek their job,” he added.
“They probably do this because they got the job by back stabbing; hence they fail to understand that not everyone needs or wants to coach the Super Eagles.”
The former Juventus player, who is also a licensed UEFA grade A coach, took more jabs at the Big Boss and his technical crew, stating that they don’t have proper qualifications to lead a major team.
“Most of us played football as kids, we all have an opinion or idea about football. This, however, leads some to think they are experts. This is not only wrong, but dangerous,” he continued.
“Should you want to be a top coach, you have to study and get yourself certified and even then you are not guaranteed success.
“Spain’s Football Federation recently banned Real Madrid’s second-team coach, Zinedine Zidane, from coaching because he doesn’t have the right qualifications.

SPORT: Van Persie ends barren run as United breeze past Hull

Robin van Persie got back on the scoresheet after a disappointing run as Manchester United strolled to a 3-0 victory over Hull at Old Trafford on Saturday.Louis van Gaal’s side retained their place in the Premier League’s top four thanks to a third successive win secured by Chris Smalling’s opener, a Wayne Rooney strike and Dutch forward van Persie’s first goal in his last four club matches. And with one defeat in eight games, plus upcoming fixtures against Stoke and Southampton in the next nine days, there is a growing belief at Old Trafford that United can secure a place in next season’s Champions League. The hosts had the contest completely under control by the interval against a Hull side who have won just once in the league since the opening day of the season and are plummeting down the table at an alarming rate. After 15 minutes, Rooney’s corner was headed back across goal by two defenders, forcing goalkeeper Allan McGregor into an unconvincing attempt to clear the ball which served only to push it out to Smalling. The defender’s shot was struck well enough and although it appeared that McGregor might have kept it out, rather than help if over the line, referee Anthony Taylor used goalline technology to confirm the goal. The second goal followed a half of complete United domination, coming four minutes before the interval as captain Curtis Davis blundered in failing to clear Ander Herrera’s header, tapping the ball directly to van Persie. The Dutchman laid the ball back to Rooney and he produced a superbly-placed finish from just outside the area, his eighth goal in his last nine games for club and country.

Pope Francis prays in Istanbul’s Blue Mosque

Pope Francis prayed on Saturday on the second day of his visit to Turkey alongside a senior Islamic cleric in Istanbul’s Blue Mosque.
The blue mosque, known officially as the Sultanahmet Mosque, opened in 1616 and was the most famous in Turkey.
Its popular name was a reference to the fine blue Iznik tiles in its main prayer room.
The Vatican City spokesman described it as a gesture of inter-religious harmony and a joint “moment of silent adoration” of God.
Francis took off his shoes as he entered the huge mosque before bowing his head in prayer for several minutes, facing Mecca and standing next to Istanbul’s Grand Mufti Rahmi Yaran.
A similar act by his predecessor Pope Benedict in 2006 drew criticism from conservative Catholics and some Muslims.
Halil Ibrahim Cil, 24, a hospital worker from Istanbul, said there was need to show respect for each other’s beliefs.
He said God willing the pope’s visit would help in this respect.
“We want to practice our religion in peace, as we want people to understand Islam, more so we don’t want war, Islam is a religion of peace’’, he said.
Hundreds of people, many of them tourists, watched from behind police barriers as the pope then walked to the nearby Aya Sofya museum, once the Christian church Hagia Sophia.
A group of school children waving Turkish and Vatican flags chanted “Long live Pope Francis” in Italian as the Muslim call to prayer rang out across the Sultanahmet square, the heart of Istanbul’s historic quarter.
Pope would later in the day, celebrate Mass at the Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Spirit and then meet the leader of the Orthodox Church, Bartholomew.
Discussions at Bartholomew are expected to focus on healing the schism in the Christian Church in 1054 that divided Rome and Constantinople.
Islamic State insurgents have captured swathes of neighbouring Syria and Iraq, persecuting and killing Shi’ite Muslims, Christians and others who do not share their ultra-radical brand of Sunni Islam.

MOROCCO WILL BE SANCTION FOR REFUSING TO HOST AFCON 2015

Morocco will be barred from the next two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments as punishment for refusing to host the 2015 edition in January-February, the Confederation of African Football president Issa Hayatou said on Saturday.
"We are going to stick to the rules, that means elimination from the next two Nations Cups," Hayatou told France's L'Equipe sports daily.
"On top of that there will be the financial and moral damages to calculate."
Morocco are facing a $20 million fine for refusing to host the 2015 Cup in its scheduled January 17-February 8 slot over fears of the spread of the deadly Ebola epidemic to the popular tourist destination, Morocco's Le Matin newspaper suggested this week.
The north African state had called for the Cup to be postponed, but organisers CAF rejected their request, stripping them of their position as hosts and barring them from playing in the continental showcase.
Oil-rich Equatorial Guinea, which co-hosted the 2012 edition with Gabon, were named as Morocco's replacement as hosts for the troubled 2015 tournament on Friday.
Aside from the former Spanish colony in west Africa who now qualify automatically, three countries are assured of their place in the troubled 2015 Cup - Tunisia, Algeria and Cape Verde Islands.
There are 12 qualifiers scheduled for Saturday with defending champions Nigeria needing a victory in Congo Brazzaville to have a realistic chance of qualifying

KIM KARDASHIAN'S BIG SECRET

 from radar online
Kanye West likes to call the shots in his career, but his desire to be in charge also extends to the home front — and his wife, Kim Kardashian.
Keeping Kim in check shouldn't be too big of a deal, especially since he's holding a huge secret over her head: She once engaged in a tawdry threesome, reports In Touch.

Though the reality star's rep denied the tryst, In Touch claims that multiple insiders dished on how Kardashian cheated on a longtime boyfriend with Kanye, 37, and another woman who just happens to also be famous. "Kanye was obsessed with Kim and wanted to have a three-way with her, and she didn't hesitate," said one source. "Kim and Kanye had already been seeing each other behind her boyfriend's back, and Kanye brought this other woman into it."
The only problem? "The other woman ended up getting jealous of Kim because Kanye was more into Kim than he was into her," says the source.
